The kingdom of Elthea, a vast 17th-century realm of stone castles, dense enchanted forests, and ancient magic that most people fear but cannot escape. For decades, the kingdom has been protected by a sacred order of guardians sworn to defend the realm from dark forces.
One such force is rising again.
Rumors spread across Elthea that villages near Blackthorn forest are vanishing overnight. An ominous threat loomed over Elthea, a dark sorceress, Morgath, has returned and unearthed an ancient relic capable of bending the will of the kingdom to her malevolent desires.
Elara Bennett, her heart as fortified as the steel armor she wears, is sent from the Order of the Guardians to investigate and recover the Heart of Aether. The only artifact capable of defeating Morgath once and for all. Unfortunately the relic was stolen first, by Dorian Wells, a notorious mercenary known for his skill with a blade and his insufferable arrogance. The hatred one dawned onto the other. And their shared moments from danger form an unspoken intense bond.
