Beyond Spoken Things

Janie was born and raised in the woods by a reclusive alcoholic father who'd rather not address his own past, and they were content. Her father, facing a devastating diagnosis and no one to care for his daughter, is forced to bring her--and himself--back into civilized society, where her differences are pointed out. Janie struggles to belong in a world that she knows nothing about, until she is given a letter after her father's passing that allows her to make a choice.
