The Red Underneath

This world was your typical world, humans, water, trees, and land. Sounds good enough to count as normal, doesn't it? Well... not exactly.

This world revolves around two simple possibilities, one of them being more as a curse than a gift.

It was simple, you were either normal, pure, and clean.

Or you were the second option.

Marked. Or what the pure called filthy, stained, red inked monsters. And more simply... unkind words.

It could start at any time. Any age. Even in your sleep. You'll feel a burning sensation in your spine at first, almost exactly like touching dried ice, a harsh sting.

Now, you may be asking. What does any of this have to do with the story?
