The Summer Between Us

At twenty-five, Scarlett's life in New York City is run by the world of Advertising. After her husband, Vincent, is fired following a very public scandal, the life they built-and the marriage she thought she knew-is in ruins. Desperate to escape the fallout, Scarlett returns to the one place that always felt like home: Camp Willabee in upstate New York. She has returned as a counselor every year since she was eighteen. This summer brings more responsibilities when she steps up into an administration role, something she's always strived for.
But the nostalgia of the woods is quickly replaced by the complicated reality of being an adult in a place built for kids. Scarlett is stepping into a leadership role under the arrogant, iron-fisted Martin Willabee, the man whose family has run the camp for generations.
Scarlett isn't the only one seeking a second chance, however. Among the arriving staff is Beck Tollen-one of Scarlett's dearest camp friends. As the humid nights stretch on, the lines between past and present begin to blur. While Scarlett's best friend, Dottie, enters a volatile, dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with a forbidden lover. Keeping it a secret from everyone, even her closest childhood friends.
