1. The stargazer & The sheriff - Carl Grimes

Olivia's earliest memory is a trip to the aquarium with her mom and sister, Sophia. Their dad was gone, as usual. Whenever he was gone, Carol loved to take the girls to see their favorite place. Olivia loved the Moon jellyfish, see-through creatures with no brain, heart, or blood. She found it amazing that their tentacles could still sting even after death.

Sophia, on the other hand, was captivated by the immortal jellyfish, which could turn themselves inside out and start their life cycle anew. Naturally, the sisters chose jellyfish that were the least harmful to humans. Olivia's favorite kind was typically not dangerous, though there was still a slight chance of being hurt. In contrast, Sophia's favorite was completely harmless. Despite their differences, Olivia and Sophia were like two halves of a whole. Olivia, being the older twin, felt a responsibility to protect Sophia from bullies who would shove her down, call her mean names, and pull her hair. She always stepped between Sophia and the aggressors, even when the bully was their father. Olivia hated him.

At night, Olivia would wish on stars for her father to disappear. She hoped to wake up and find him gone, but her wishes never worked.

Then, Olivia met a boy who was two years older than her. His father had been shot in the line of duty and was gone forever. That night, Olivia found herself wishing that his father could come back-not as one of those frightening monsters, but as a living, breathing person. She hoped that even if her wishes never came true, his might. After all, he was a good person, whereas she felt broken.

Author's note: I'm aging up Carl to 14, Sophie & oc are still going to be 12. I have not decided if I'm going to kill him, either sooooo be prepared to be surprised.
