Hope Krissley is not looking forward to starting high school. After a prolonged summer, she is most certainly not looking forward to reuniting with old enemies. But school is not the only thing Hope has to put up with. Her brother, Jakson Krissley, has been fighting in Afghanistan for over a year, and is returning under devastating pretenses.
Hope has the usual drama, girls making fun of her, the guy she likes never liking her back, and the usual depression that lingers through her body.
After the recent passing of her mother, and the arrest of her father, Hope is left in the care of her eighty three year old grandmother. But instead of her grandmother taking care of her, she's taking care of her grandmother.
Hope starts to feel alone, and even her best friend, Thomas Jordan, is starting to feel distant. Little did she know that he was a lot closer than she thought.
Hope deals with loss, depression, heartbreak, and pain, but through it all, there's one thing she still has- hope.
