"Kash koi defence wala ladka mil jaye, kitne chatpate hote hai na?,"

("I wish I could find a defense guy, they're so hot, isn't he?,") I blurted unknowingly to a stranger I met on the train, who just saved me from being harnessed.

"Aab aapne bola hai toh hote honge,"

("Now that you have said it, it must be happening,") He said, his voice is firm but steady, he peek slightly from the book he's reading almost the moment he gets settled in his seat.

As soon as his brown eyes met mine, a sudden shiver ran down my spine, sending a wave of unfamiliar warmth and unease through me, as if something deep within me had quietly stirred awake.

He's charming,
He's patient and,
He's a gentleman-

The thought of stepping out, of leaving behind everything familiar, filled me with quiet anxiety but somewhere beneath it all, there was a flicker of excitement.

In my eighteen years of life, I finally took a step outside my house for the first time, starting my most awaited moment, my dream college in a completely different state, I thought I'll handle everything but,

Deep inside, I carry a strong purpose to become an officer, not just in rank, but in character.
