Ayumi learned how to survive - not how to live. Taken as a child, trained and shaped into something she never chose to be, she knows only two things: obedience and how to endure. Feelings are a luxury. Trust isn't something she understands.

Konoha is... different. Here, people don't hide their scars. They carry them. Together.

Kakashi Hatake sees her long before she ever says a word. He notices the things she tries to ignore - the parts of herself she buried a long time ago. But getting close to someone like Ayumi isn't simple. And Kakashi isn't untouched either.

As the past refuses to stay where it belongs, both of them are forced to face something they've avoided for a long time.
