Kim Taehyung, a bullied and reserved teenager, moves to the small town of Busan where he finally makes friends. Gifted in combat and strategy, he quickly rises through the ranks, meets his younger brother Yoongi, and takes a wounded Chinese soldier, Lan Sizhui, under his wing, who becomes his second-in-command. Amid wars, plots, and responsibilities, Taehyung becomes a legendary general.

He travels back and forth between the past and the future several times, receives medical treatment, protects his loved ones, and strengthens his bond with Sizhui. After thwarting conspiracies and restoring peace, he returns to live in the past, where he continues to serve the kingdom and travel with Sizhui to protect the people and build a stable future.
