Off His Guard

Pavel has spent the last fourteen years building a quiet, stable life out of chaos.

A skilled mechanic with a love for everything to do with cars, Pavel runs a small auto shop and raises his son, TeeTee, on his own. TeeTee is bright, stubborn, and looks exactly like the man Pavel has tried, and failed, to forget. The man from one blurred, fevered night during Pavel's heat. A stranger caught in a rut. No names, no promises, no memory beyond a face that never really left him.

Pavel told himself it didn't matter. That it was better this way. That whoever that alpha was, he didn't belong in their lives.

Then Pooh walks into his garage.

Famous. Untouchable. Recognizable even under sunglasses and a mask. A lethally famous actor with a reputation, a schedule, and a life completely opposite to Pavel's. And a face Pavel would know anywhere.

The resemblance is undeniable, and is made worse when Pooh notices TeeTee, and something instinctive pulls tight in his chest. A familiarity he can't explain. A connection that shouldn't exist.

Pavel wants him gone. Out of his shop. Out of his life.

But TeeTee is curious. Pooh is persistent. And instincts don't give a fuck about the past Pavel tried to bury.

As memories threaten to resurface and truths refuse to stay hidden, Pavel is forced to confront the night he lost and the man who might have been searching for him without even knowing it.
