- This is a continuation of Carpe Diem: Seize the Day My Love 

In the first book of the Carpe Diem Series, Marlene Brennan took a trip to California to explore what her new identity as 'Miss Independent' had in store for her.  After three months of finding contentment, she heads back to her hometown as promised, but soon learns that the person she wanted to see the most has left to begin his professional baseball career.  However, Owen Thomas left a letter and a journal in the hands of his friends in hopes of having Marlene read them.

In this journal, an account of how little Owen came to be as a smooth and clever 'player' will be told.  Growing up with divorced parents, being known as an original prankster, being sent to a boarding school by his father as a punishment, hanging around with the wrong group of friends, and eventually living with his Aunt, was mainly all Owen ever knew before he met the Brennan siblings.  

So, please don't be too quick to judge people. Every moment you can get with them counts, and then you can understand where they are really coming from.

She's never backed away from a challenge before, so why start now? Even if it means "babysitting" a boy that she's known since she was six. The Sweeny brothers, will do ANYTHING to get rid of Bella for good, so that their mother will FINALLY remember that they exist. Besides, battling Bella in the game of wits and pranks has been far more fun than they'll ever let her know. After a year, they still have not come to terms with the fact that she's there to stay. When one normal seeming weekend, begins to slide downhill at a rapid pace, Bella's rocky, mysterious past begins to haunt her, and the rest of her town. I wrap my arms around his neck and tangle my fingers in his hair. He bites down on my bottom lip softly. As I was about to part my lips, he pulls away. "Better watch your back," he says. He smirks at me and then turns around to leave. What just happened? ____________________ Kennedy is not like most girls. Instead of getting her nails done and gossiping, she would rather ride her motorcycle or dive jump. She didn't have any friends back at her old school, but will that change when she attends a new one? She meets the bad boy of the school, Ryder. One harmless prank of pouring some pudding over his head starts a whole other war. They prank each other and start to realise that they might have feelings for the other person and the other person might have feelings for them. ... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. As I transcribe it here, I have tried to update it a bit and give the characters/story more depth than what I had when I was younger. Hopefully it all gets pulled together!

It was the only gift he'd ever received that wasn't a hand-me-down. Sometimes the foam darts accidentally got stuck on his siblings' foreheads and that was usually his cue to run upstairs, lock himself in his room, and play his favorite online game, CyberGhost, while he let one of his siblings cool off. But when an anonymous offline player messages Ned to tell him that they need help stopping a ghost invasion IRL, Ned feels important for the first time in his life. He knew it was just a game, but could they actually be serious?

His name's John Thomas Bales, and he's the only one with green eyes. His hair is dark and his smile is bright. He's a shy and cute guy who just can't stand being away from America. Oh and did her ex-boyfriend coming back into her life come up? Spoiler: he does. Somewhere along the way, these five boys end up falling for the unique and sarcastic America Wilde.
