Totally Different

My name is Britney Prescott.
Half Nigerian. Half American.
For most of my life, Nigeria was the only home I'd ever known.
My mother's first husband abandoned her when my older sister was only three years old, disappearing with every cent she had saved. She was left heartbroken and struggling to survive.
Years later, she met my father.
He wasn't rich(slightly rich). He wasn't perfect. But he loved her.
Together, they built a family-my sister, me, and my younger brother.
For years, America felt like a distant dream. My father couldn't afford to bring us there, so we remained in Nigeria.
Until now.
After years of waiting, we're finally moving to America.
I thought it would be the beginning of a better life.
I was wrong.
