The story begins when Elsa was away from the conflict between Kurapika and the Phantom Troupe. She arrives late and is seen by Pakunda, who cries and begs her to return to Chrollo. Years pass, and Elsa uncovers further secrets, including that her father raised Chrollo and the Phantom Troupe when they were children, but was killed along with Sarasa. Elsa's memory was later erased, leading to a conflict with the Phantom Troupe, who celebrate her return, and Chrollo, who insists she is his despite the significant age difference (Chrollo is 26 and Elsa is 14).
