Ten-year-old Ulrich Steiner-Kingscholar is the "unusual boy" of Royal Sword Academy. He's a half-lion prince with an 124 IQ who prefers battle strategies over sparkly songs & heroism. He doesn't go anywhere without his plushie war-robots or the ghosts whispering in his ear.

Now, he's headed to Night Raven College for a four-month exchange. Without his guardian Kifaji to protect him, Ulrich must navigate with his wits and awareness in a school of "villains" who have no idea on how to handle a Steiner strategist. But he isn't alone. He brings the Iron Shadows - a legion of tiny, spectral war machinese and the souls of fallen soldiers of the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces.

On the surface, he might look like a "preppy hero" but his views is very pragmatist and realist in grey area. Which it's a contradiction for both Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College.

Between his bitter uncle Leona and the secret agents observing him from the shadows, Ulrich is on a mission that magic alone can't win.

"I'm not here to be the hero. I'm here to finish the mission. I'll do whatever is necessary to get it done."
