Beatrice Prior is 12 year old preteen who has gone through things that no one never should face. Because of someone's selfish decision she must live with the consequences. It's difficult to life at place like Abnegation if you are a victim of something that is not acknowledged by council. Beatrice knows that what happened for her is wrong but only her mother sees the problem.
Natalie is the only one who is trying to help her daughter. Being mom of two she understands sudden cramps before her daughter is able to tell that she is giving a birth. Natalie is angry but her husband Andrew is trying to keep her daughter's 'mistake' out of the news. But how can you blame a twelve year old girl getting raped in the middle of day? A girl was just walking home from the school.
This is story about a girl who needed to grow up way faster than a normal teenager. Being thirteen year old with a baby isn't ideal but you have to do what you have to do when terminating a pregnancy is not allowed. How are you able to raise a child when you're not an adult. Luckily Beatrice does have a one friend. A boy from the next house. He is able to make her to love herself again.
