Assassin's Creed: Great Shinobi Nations

Long ago, before the Age of Shinobi, there was a battle between a religious cult and a hidden order. The battle waged had taken its toll on others, and it only grew worse once Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki had introduced Ninshū to the world. The cult, calling themselves the Order of the Ancients, sought to destroy the current world, and rebuild one through absolute order to be ruled with an iron fist. A world where free will... never existed.

The hidden order, originally dubbed the "Hidden Ones," fought them from the shadows. Exposing their plans through skilled assassinations in which incriminating evidence was left on the bodies, clearing any suspicion from them which lead to the investigation of the cult. They sought to preserve the current world. A world where free will... was proudly given.

Over centuries, the battle was waged. Lives lost, plans thwarted, and each side exposing the other. To combat this, the Order of the Samurai's Templar was formed. However, this was merely a front for the Order of the Ancients. Now armed with the knowledge of Ninshū, now called Ninjutsu, the Templar grew followers. That is,... until they were exposed and forced into hiding.

The Hidden Ones had also changed, but their methods were the same. To prevent discovery, they never used Ninjutsu unless necessary, if they used it at all. They were soon known to many as the Assassin's Brotherhood, and their very nature struck fear into the hearts of the Templars. However, despite this, the Templars' numbers grew after the Third Shinobi War.

Now, years after the end of the Third Shinobi War, the numbers of the Templars were short, but there were fewer Assassins. The remains of the Brotherhood sought shelter in the Land of Fire, where they remained in a small village they dubbed the Village Hidden in the Blades. There, they remained in safety from the Templars, and formed tenets to live by.

For many, these tenets were suggestions. However, for one child,... these tenets became his Creed.
