Highschool is brutal and love makes it worse. Teenagers don't have fully developed brains, they're emotional and slightly hormonal and they're trying to figure out who they are as people. Sixteen year old Serina Martin just moved, again, 45 minutes from town, and she feels ready to be an adult. At her job she meets a boy, her age who she admires nearly a whole year, hearing nothing but bad and people shit talking him, but she has always been told she's "too kind for your own good"

Wesley just cheated on his girlfriend, with a girl at work, he hates himself and his life for it, but if he didn't cheat his girlfriend would have, at least that's what everyone says. School is going to be brutal for him the first semester and he just knows it. But all he has to do is focus on himself and heal, until a goldfish comes tripping into his arms.
