AMEN?

The convent was supposed to be untouched by the world outside-safe, sacred, still. But safety begins to rot the moment the news arrives. Two nuns, gone without reason. No signs. No answers. Only silence left behind.

Inside, that silence grows.

Sister Beatrice feels it in the pauses between prayers, in the way no one lingers alone anymore. Yet somehow, she isn't afraid. Not in the way the others are.

Not even of him.

The caretaker moves through the convent as he belongs to it more than anyone else. His presence is quiet, but never absent. His eyes always seem to find Sister Beatrice, as if searching for something only she can see.
