Shattered Reflections One hotel. Two worlds. Three lives built on a foundation of lethal lies. By day, she's the efficient employee at a luxury hotel, blending into the background of a world she'll never belong to. By night, she is a ghost-a cold-blooded assassin for the most ruthless mafia syndicate in the city. Enter the Hotelier: the charming heir to his father's hospitality empire. He's looking for a future with the mysterious girl behind the front desk, never suspecting that his "honest" father is actually the kingpin of the very gang she kills for. Enter the Avenger: a man born of the mafia, fueled by a singular obsession-to find the woman who took his mother's life. He's hunted her for years, but now that he's found her, the line between revenge and desire is starting to bleed. He's supposed to pull the trigger; instead, he's falling for the woman he swore to destroy. In a game of masks and mirrors, the truth is the most dangerous weapon of all. When the shadows of the past collide with the secrets of the present, who will survive the fallout? Love is the most dangerous deception.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
