Eva Roberts was an artist on the ice. The so-called "skate artist" from Kentucky. She grew up like any normal kid; her parents weren't skaters, just regular people. Then, one day, the TV blasted with the Winter Olympics in 2010, and she was captivated by the figure skaters. The sparkly dresses, the way they flew into their jumping passes. She was only 5 at the time, but she knew she wanted to do it. She wanted to skate.
Ilia Malinin grew up with that passion already in his bones. His mom and dad were skaters themselves. Though they didn't want him to, he did. And so he did. The QuadGod, they call him. The first person in history to land a Quad Axel.
They became friends when Eva was announced to be part of Team USA, which was in 2022. Her coach was Roman, Ilia's dad. It was a casual close friendship; by the new year of 2024, they were best friends, tied together at the hip. By the 2024 World Champions, she was in love. She tried to deny it, saying they were just best friends, that the racing in her heart was normal, but it wasn't. Now, it's 2026, the Milan Cortina Olympics.
