Aranel has been raised by Lord Elrond after her father died. He taught her everything she knows. She knows not to question him, but when he sends her on a mission to the Iron hills with a dwarf, she may start to doubt him. And this stupid dwarf she follows knows nothing of the dark and dangerous realm of the Mirkwood, as people are calling it. Or even of the Elven King's hatred of dwarves of any kind. The striking king is called to act on Aranel and her companion. Can Aranel keep her fatal flaw in check? Will she out-wit the guards of Mirkwood and return to her adopted father in Rivendell? Or is everything a lie and the darkness growing in Mirkwood more dangerous than anyone thought?
