"He was the gravity that held the world in place; she was the lightning that gave it a reason to wake up. Together, they didn't just find a middle ground-they created a new frequency entirely." Rua gripped the edge of the table, her knuckles white. "Trinay, we are opposites. We don't even like the same breakfast. You're talking about a lifetime of... of clashing." "No," Trinay countered, a rare, intense spark lighting up his face. "I'm talking about alchemy. Most people think marriage is 1 + 1 = 2. Two separate entities living parallel lives. I don't want that. I want us to manage our differences so effectively that we make 1 + 1 = 11. I want the 'Zero-Point' and the 'Noise' to amplify each other, not cancel each other out." Rua stunned for a second. The mathematical metaphor-the idea of synergy over simple addition-was so uniquely him, yet the sentiment was so unexpectedly passionate. "You're serious," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the air conditioning. "You actually think we can make it work? Without me losing my 'Fire' and you losing your 'Ice'?" "I don't want you to lose your fire, Rua. I want to be the one who knows how to stand in it without burning up," Trinay said, his voice softening just a fraction. "Think about it. Don't say 'yes' for our mothers. Say 'yes' because you want to see if we can actually hit that frequency of eleven." Rua looked at him-this man who followed the discipline of Mahadev and the precision of a scalpel-and for the first time, she didn't see an "Ice Surgeon." She saw a man who was offering her a challenge that was far more exhilarating than any revolution she'd ever started with a dhol. "1 + 1 = 11," she repeated, the numbers tasting strange but electric on her tongue. "You're a very dangerous man, Trinay Oberoi. You know exactly how to hack my psychological hardware."
