When Lauren Asher, the daughter of a Raccoon City police veteran, returns to her hometown, she expects a warm welcome with her family. Instead, she is greeted by burning streets and the living dead. A chance encounter with rookie cop Leon Kennedy turns into a desperate struggle for life. While Leon tries to follow his duty and figure out the causes of the disaster, Lauren is driven by a personal mission: to find her younger brother Ray and her missing father, who left a trail of mysterious clues at the police station.
