Rewritten ending, where Derlord finds a better way of distracting Avery. His infinite knowledge is helpful, sure, but Avery is one stubborn man, one that's too desperate to let go.

the first few hundred words are what happened in the finale but written in my style, and then things take a turn... For the better? worse? you'll have to decide that answer for yourself.
