In the autumn of 1918, months after the end of the Great War, eighteen-year-old Hidei Takashi returns to his childhood village after eight years away, hoping to help his grandfather prepare for the coming winter.
At first, Kimyō Village appears unchanged-peaceful, familiar, untouched by time. But beneath its quiet surface, something feels wrong. Memories are incomplete, the villagers behave strangely, and the forest that borders the settlement seems to watch in silence.
As Hidei reconnects with fragments of his past, long-buried truths begin to surface-along with a presence that lingers just beyond sight. What was once home slowly reveals itself to be something far more unsettling... and far less forgiving.
