Endure

Fiona's life should have been that of a sheltered princess. She is the youngest child and the only girl born to the Don and Donna of the Italian mafia. She was the first girl born in the Italian mafia in generations. However, that all changed when her mother feared for her life and ran away with Fiona in the middle of the night when she was two.

Fiona has no memory of her father or her brothers. She grew up with her mother, and eventually, her stepfather Henry. Living with just her mother, she was happy and healthy. While they did not have a lot, her mother poured all the love and care into her beloved daughter. Henry moved in with them when Fiona was 8. At first everything was great. Henry provided for both mother and daughter.

However, one night, when Fiona was 11, tragedy struck, and her mother passed away in a car crash while coming to pick her up for dance class. Fiona and Henry were devastated. After that night Henry changed.

It started slowing with little comments. Then small slaps on the hand. He told her that she had to do all the cleaning and cooking in the house. Fiona had to quit all her extracurricular activities-dance, softball, music, and help take care of the house. If something was not done right, Henry would make sure she knew it. It was not until she was 12 did, she get a full beating where she had to miss some school. He was careful though. Never hitting or cutting anywhere that would show.

Fiona went from being a happy and outgoing child to barely speaking at all. While she may not talk out loud, she never backs down. She is always thinking and planning. She always endures.

What will happen when her life changes and she finds out that she has not just one protective older brother, but seven? Will she be able to open up and trust these men or will her secrets remain forever? What happens when she realizes her family is even larger than she originally thought? And what happens when she finds out they are not just a normal family?
