Claudia Doll hates the term "everything happens for a reason." Her little sister Delilah dying didn't have a reason.

After nobody believed Claudia case that Delilah dying wasn't an accident, her parents had enough of "her making the death hurt more than it already did" so they sent her away to a small town in Colorado, Doria Mane.

There, Claudia lives with Ricky Sampson and his family who are very close friends with her family back home.

Instead of Claudia having a fresh start, she ends up right back where she started. Believing that Delilah Doll was murdered.

While she starts trying to investigate things even though she's so far from home and where Delilah died, she meets somebody who may just make investigating much harder.

Chance Verelli is the star hockey player whose life is pretty fucked up.

He lives with his parents and his little sister. His parents add so much stress that isn't seen from the outside view. He's mad.

Being a playboy is the only way to calm that madness. Meeting Claudia Doll, he couldn't give less of a shit about her. But when he really starts to get to know her, he realizes she's putting his life back together without realizing it.

He needs to fix himself to get the girl, but the girl isn't so fixed either.
