A meteor shower paints the Tokyo night sky in shimmering fire beautiful, until the beauty falls. When the last streak of light fades, the city wakes to a rain of strange, prismatic crystals scattered across rooftops, alleyways, and train platforms. They hum with an energy no one can explain. Some awaken with impossible gifts: strength that cracks concrete, senses that stretch across city blocks, minds that bend technology like paper. Others... don't survive the transformation.

As panic spreads, a hidden cult steps out from the shadows. Calling themselves The Ascended, they believe the crystals are fragments of a divine engine one that, if fully assembled, will grant them the power to reshape the world in their image. They begin hunting the gifted, harvesting crystals by force, and leaving chaos in their wake.

In response, the government forms Unit Kairo, an elite task force of soldiers, scientists, and newly empowered civilians. Their mission: track down the crystals before the cult does, protect the altered, and uncover the truth behind the meteor shower that wasn't a meteor shower at all.

But as alliances fracture and powers evolve beyond control, one question looms over Tokyo's neon-lit skyline: Are the crystals a miracle... or the beginning of something far more catastrophic?
