When a quiet Isabella Romano accepts a temporary position as a private assistant for a powerful businessman, she expects long hours and demanding work - not the attention of Adrian Valenti, the most feared name in the city's criminal underworld. Adrian is a man who controls everything - his empire, his enemies, his emotions. Until Isabella walks into his office. Her soft-spoken nature and quiet intelligence ignite something in him he can't suppress. What begins as fascination turns into obsession, and soon, Adrian's need to protect her becomes dangerously possessive. Isabella, an introvert who has always avoided attention, finds herself trapped between fear and fascination. Adrian's world is one of violence and control, yet she can't deny the pull between them. As his obsession deepens, she must decide whether to run from him - or risk being consumed by the darkness that surrounds him.

DISCLAIMER!!!!!! This book is probably very bad! Who am I kidding? there's no probably, it's very bad. There are probably some things that don't make sense or don't add up, and the writing in the first chapters (or all) is bad. I know I have improved but this was just a warning, so I don't get cussed out in the comments. Lol, jk. I wrote this when I was younger (I hated editing) so there are a lot of mistakes with capitalizing, punctuation, sentence structure etc. Read at your own risk. You were warned. ************ Excerpt. The pounding of my head could be heard from a mile away. I closed my eyes tightly and tried not to focus on the pain. I was becoming irritated by both the headache and the stupid chains. I opened my eyes and looked over at my sister, she was sleeping with her head hanging low. I looked away from her and pulled on the chains, ignoring the migraine I'm pretty sure I have. This is just pure cruelty, I really prefered staying in the room. I looked around the room, for what felt like the millionth time within this hour. I took a deep and long breath before I just let my hands hang to the sides of my head in the chains. My breathing slowed and I closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes a while after I noticed that someone was in the room. "What are you doing in here?" I asked. ~~~~~~~~ Highest Rank #1 in General Fiction. New cover made by @lexusloveangels.
