Kaelum and Spixx are the legendary duo of the school. They study together, fight over 0.1% differences in their grades, and share a chemistry that everyone notices. But there's a wall between them that Kaelum can never climb: Simon.

Unlike the previous versions, Spixx and Simon are solid. Simon is kind, he's supportive, and he's always there to pick Spixx up after school. There is no "breakup" to wait for. Kaelum has to watch Spixx's eyes light up when Simon walks into a room-the same way Kaelum's eyes light up for Spixx.

The Night of the "Almost"

One night, while Kaelum and Spixx are pulled into an intense all-nighter for the Final Exams, the tension finally snaps. They are exhausted, fueled by too much caffeine and the quiet intimacy of the empty library.

Spixx leans over to check Kaelum's work, his shoulder pressing against Kaelum's. For a moment, they lock eyes. The world goes silent. Kaelum can see the confusion in Spixx's expression-an acknowledgment that there is something between them that shouldn't be there.

Kaelum almost leans in. He almost says it. But then, Spixx's phone buzzes on the table. The lock screen lights up with a photo of Spixx and Simon laughing at a carnival.

Spixx pulls back instantly, the "rival" mask sliding back into place. "Simon's outside," he says, his voice a bit shaky. "He brought us coffee."

The Friend Zone Sanctuary

Kaelum realizes that even though he and Spixx have a connection that Simon might never understand (the academic bond, the shared jokes, the long nights), Spixx is not leaving. He has chosen his life with Simon, and Kaelum is simply a permanent "second option" in the heart's rankings.

It's graduation day. Kaelum and Spixx are standing together for a photo, both wearing their "With Honors" medals.

​"We actually did it," Spixx says, bumping Kaelum's shoulder. "Co-valedictorians. I couldn't have done it without my favorite rival."
