"I don't have one," she said.
His eyes narrowed slightly. Not anger calculation.
"Then you're either lost," he said, "or you've chosen a very stupid place to wander into."
She almost smiled. Almost.
"I was looking for you," she said.
"You found me," he replied. "Now explain why that isn't your last mistake."
"You die here," she said.
The words left her mouth before she could second-guess them.
"Not today," she added quietly. "But soon enough that it won't matter how strong you are."
