"Something about you that now, I can't remember. It's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender."
In a hospital where lives are saved every second, some hearts are far too broken to be healed.
Dr. Heeseung is known for his precision, brilliance... and his unbearable coldness. A man who doesn't smile, doesn't explain, and certainly doesn't care.
At least, that's what everyone believes.
Until Jake arrives.
A new intern with quiet resilience and a heart too soft for a place like this, Jake finds himself standing under the sharp gaze of the one man everyone fears.
"Your report is sloppy."
Jake stiffens. "I followed the protocol-"
"And yet," Heeseung cuts in, voice cold, "it still lacks thought. Do not confuse effort with competence, Dr. Sim."
Most would break.
Jake doesn't.
And maybe that's the first mistake.
While Jake slowly learns to survive under Heeseung's impossible standards, another storm brews behind closed doors-one that no one sees.
The crying fades.
And for the first time-
Heeseung sees something he cannot understand.
Warmth.
And just like that-
Jake gives Heeseung something he himself couldn't.
A beginning.
Days turn into nights. Nights into something quieter.
And somewhere between shared silence and unspoken understanding-
Heeseung begins to notice.
"You stayed."
Jake blinks. "Of course I did."
"...Why?"
"...Because you needed someone."
A pause.
And then-soft, dangerous, real-
"...And what if I need you?"
But love in a hospital isn't simple.
Not when it comes at the cost of everything they are supposed to be.
Meanwhile-
In the same hospital, chaos takes a very different form.
Ni-ki, the arrogant heir to the hospital, walks in like he owns everything.
"You're such an ass," Sunoo mutters days later.
"And yet," Ni-ki leans in slightly, a smirk playing on his lips, "you keep talking to me, beautiful."
Sunoo rolls his eyes-but doesn't step back.
Two love stories.
One built on healing.
The other on fire.
