In the elite world of Westchester, appearances are everything-and Madeline Block is the one setting the standard.

As a sophomore at Octavian Country Day, sixteen-year-old Madeline has finally traded the backseat of Isaac's SUV for the driver's seat of her own car. While her younger sister, Massie, rules the seventh grade with an iron fist and the rest of the Pretty Committee at her heels, Madeline is navigating the higher stakes of tenth grade.

The Block sisters have always shared a penchant for designer labels and a "State of the Union" attitude, but their carefully curated lives are about to hit a major speed bump.

When their parents announce that old college friends are moving into the family guest house, Madeline and Massie expect more of the same social elite. Instead, they get the Lyons-and specifically, Claire. She's in the seventh grade, she's wearing overalls, and she's officially a permanent fixture in the Block estate.

Between navigating high school drama and watching Massie's social empire face its biggest challenge yet, Madeline has to decide: will she help her sister maintain the status quo, or is it time for a new set of rules in the guest house?
