Sixteen years after the apocalyptic collapse of the Akumetsu Castle in Wallachia, the fragile peace of the world is once again hanging by a thread. In a Europe standing on the precipice of the Second World War, a threat much older and far more lethal is stirring in the underground. The Demon Slayer Corps and the Western monster-hunting factions are no longer fighting on open battlefields; they are locked in a shadow war against heretical cults and dark candidates vying for the empty throne of the underworld.

Enter Aya Tomioka Kocho, the daughter of the heroes of the dawn. Inheriting her father's absolute aquatic calm and her mother's lethal venomous precision, Aya has evolved her lineage to create a devastating new technique: Mercury Breathing. Adopted and raised by Shanoa, the most powerful Glyph Master of the Order of Ecclesia, Aya must adapt to the cruel, magic-infused combat styles of Europe.

However, their enemies are no longer the feral, directionless demons of Muzan's era. A dark cult led by the fanatical priestess Celia Fortner, alongside two candidates born to inherit Dracula's dark power-Dmitrii Blinov, the ruthless magic mimic, and Dario Bossi, the feral pyromaniac-are gathering their strength. Their goal is absolute: to resurrect the Vampire Messiah, Erzsébet Báthory (The Blood Countess), and plunge the earth into an eternal eclipse.
