We find ourselves with Rellick, a sixteen year old living in a city full of danger with his mother and his brother. He has lived a normal life, even without knowing his dad. He begins to feel strange things happening with his body, things that a normal person wouldn't feel. He starts to learn of his new powers. Not only must he learn to control them, but also his relationships with the ones he keeps closest to himself. He's losing faith in what he can do, and he isn't sure if he can protect everybody that he cares about. He begins to struggle with himself and may fall down a dark path.
