Everyone knew better than to stand in my way, let alone look me in the eyes like they had something to prove. Silence just followed me. Like a rule nobody needed to say out loud. I never really questioned it. That's just how things were.

Until he walked in like none of it applied to him. Like fear wasn't something people carried around for me. And I didn't even notice when it started happening, me, falling. Slow, steady, until it started to feel like I was losing control of things I thought I had locked down.

And just when I thought I understood what that feeling was, life twisted it again and brought someone else into the same space, like it was testing how much I could actually take. And somehow, being stuck between the two became the one thing I couldn't get out of.

People always think they understand me at first glance, like I'm just another face in the crowd, nothing too loud, nothing too important. I let them think that. It's easier that way. I don't chase attention, but somehow it still finds me, just not the kind I care about.

Then everything shifted when he showed up like he already belonged in a space that wasn't his. Acting like distance didn't mean anything, like people didn't come with limits. I didn't react at first. I usually don't. But some things stay in your head longer than they should.

And just when I thought I had it figured out, like I could ignore it and move on, life decided to make it worse by bringing it all into the same place again, like it wanted to see how long I could stay quiet before something in me gave in.
