After her brother Billy's death, Loralei Hargrove vanished. From school. From her friends. From herself. When she finally returns, it's in pieces-skipping class, drowning in grief, and barely holding on. No one really sees her... except the town freak. Eddie Munson, with his ripped jeans, loud music, and suspicious reputation, is the last person she expects to find comfort in. But one night, drunk and desperate, she knocks on his trailer door-and everything shifts. What starts as a chaotic moment becomes something darker, deeper, and more dangerous than either of them anticipated. Loralei doesn't know what she's looking for. Eddie doesn't think he's what anyone needs. But the more they orbit each other, the harder it is to pretend they aren't both bleeding beneath the surface. She's broken in all the wrong ways. He's the only one who lets her be. And somewhere between the bad dreams, Hellfire games, and stolen moments, they might just become each other's only way out.
