The Magic Within

sequel to Queen of Avalor

It's been four years since Isabel discovered her magic & helped Shuriki save Avalor from two powerful malvagos (two years since the epilogue). Both Avalor & Aicosta are doing very well, but Isabel can't help wondering where her magic came from. Her sister had always been the magical one, & that was because she had been trapped in an amulet for all that time.
Just as she's planning to ask someone about it, Gabe comes to the palace with strange news. All over Avalor, plants & even animals were withering almost to the point of death. No one can figure out why it's happening. What could they do? Was Avalor the only kingdom having this happen?
Wanting answers, Isabel takes Christina & goes to Aicosta; Shuriki & Esteban always knew about these sorts of things. But when they get there, the same thing is happening. They go to the palace & ask if they know what's going on, but nobody has any answers. As the royal wizard, Carla has tried nearly every spell in the book to reverse it, but nothing has worked & she's worried it's going to affect people soon.
Isabel can't explain why, but she feels like these things are connected somehow. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense; they happened four years apart. But she still can't help thinking...
When someone close to them gets it, the group knows they have to do something before they run out of time. Shuriki certainly isn't prepared for what it could mean if they can't find a way to fix it. Everything was perfect for so long; she doesn't want to watch things start to fall apart again. But what can they do?
Onyx agrees with Isabel. They think it could be connected, & they tell her that finding out where her magic came from could be the key to fixing this & saving their friend. Isabel promises to try & gets started as best as she can. But she may not be prepared for what she learns...
