This is my first attempt at writing a short horror story... let me know what you think I guess.
A father, worn down by the relentless cruelty of Minnesota winters, makes a desperate decision: pack up his wife and young daughter and escape. Far from the biting cold and endless snow, they find refuge in a remote cabin deep within unfamiliar woods. Cheap, isolated, and blissfully cut off from the world they left behind.
As days blur into uneasy nights, something begins to settle in around them. Not seen, never fully, but felt. A presence threading itself through the trees, pressing in on the cabin, watching. Waiting.
What was meant to be an escape slowly becomes something else entirely.
(This book has mentions of death and gore PLEASE don't read if you have an issue with that. I don't want to hear it. I also shouldn't have to clarify that this is all made up. The people, events, all of it. Lastly, It's not even remotely worth stealing, so don't waste your time. But if anyone want's to leave a comment feel free.)
