Dana thought she had everything under control. She had practically built it on control. Work hard. Stay focused, and don't get distracted. It's predictable and the safe route. Until one dangerous and unpredictable assignment changes everything. A client with too many files and not enough answers. And a name she can't seem to ignore, no matter how hard she tries. Caruso. She's never met him. But he's already knows everything there is to know about her. It's quiet. Controlled. Very Intentional. The kind of attention that lingers. The kind that doesn't go away. "You weren't cleared for that level of access," he says. Dana doesn't flinch. "Then your systems are flawed." A pause. The room doesn't feel like it's waiting-it feels like it's holding its breath. "You're speaking out of turn," he says flatly. "I'm speaking honestly." She snaps back. His gaze hardens slightly. Not raised voice. Not anger. Just finality. "You don't get to decide how things operate here." Dana meets his stare. "Then don't give me access I'm not supposed to have." That earns silence. Immediately, but not for long. "Be careful," he says. "You're confusing permission with control." Dana doesn't look away. "And you're confusing control with shitty securit-," "Enough," he says. One word. One word that changed the air around them. One word reinstituted who was truly in charge.

This is a compilation of 21 poems. There is no category they all fall under, and they seem to make little sense. But you may find them thought provoking. Enjoy.
