He has never been able to truly fit in no matter what he does. 20 years later, he reflects on his past and the horrible life he lived in the Heart of LA during the 90's. Dealing with perverse notions like poverty, addiction, abuse, neglect and other horrors the life he chose has to offer, he tells the story of what defined him, what happened, and how it pushed him to the edge of everything. (An original novel in progress. A taste of it from chapter one!)

Mel Snider is the girl everyone stares at as she walks down the hall. With Mel continuously bumping into Devon (as well as finding reasons to go see him), she begins to let him into her life. But letting him into her life means making the time to be with him. After always placing drumming at the top of her list, she wonders if she should continue to focus solely on her drumming, or if it's worth it in the end to balance her time to be with someone special.
