Seonghyeon is half fox, half human. His mother is a gumiho and his father is a human. Long ago, gumihos were feared by villagers. Rumors spread that these beautiful women seduced men only to devour their livers, but the tales were born mostly from jealousy over the gumihos' otherworldly beauty.

Seonghyeon's father was different. Captivated by his mother's beauty, he fell deeply in love with her, and together they had Seonghyeon. To escape the humans who hunted gumihos, the family moved to a remote area.

One day, while Seonghyeon was out searching for herbs, Grandmother Ji, the elder gumiho, took him away and sealed him inside an ancient silver mirror. His parents had just been killed by villagers. Seonghyeon cried bitterly, but Grandmother Ji told him only a pure soul could free him. She believed no human possessed such purity, only greed. Still, she hoped Seonghyeon would one day be saved.

And so, Seonghyeon remained trapped for five hundred years.

Until one day, Martin stumbled upon the mirror and accidentally set him free.
