Unseen Obsession

It all starts with a file.

Thane doesn't get answers when his mentor mysteriously disappears. Instead, he gets instructions.
Inside the file is a woman's name.

With no explanation, no context, or any reason why a stranger would suddenly become the center of a directive he was never briefed on, he's left with only scattered warnings and quiet urgency written in between the lines.

Protect her.

So he does what he's trained to do. At first it's nothing personal, just surveillance framed as necessity. Patterns and routines, her habits. A life reduced to something he can study from a distance and keep under control.

But control stops feeling like control when she starts reacting, and he realizes how important she really could be.

That is, until she notices things she shouldn't. Just small inconsistencies in her world that that don't add up. A presence she can't prove but can't ignore either. When those things escalate with cameras she didn't install, unknown messages that feel less like threats and more like restraint, she doesn't back away... she pushes forward. Hard.

Only, the deeper she goes, the less certain she becomes about what she's actually uncovering.
