Skylar doesn't believe in needing people. She's always been the one who leaves first, the one who keeps things light, untouchable.
Until him.
It starts like nothing, just a pull, a presence she can't quite explain. But the more time Skylar spends around him, the harder it is to tell where curiosity ends and something else begins.
She wants to be seen by him. Chosen by him. Needed in a way that feels impossible to walk away from.
And maybe it would be easier if it felt wrong.
But it doesn't.
It feels electric. Addictive. Like every version of Skylar that existed before is slowly being rewritten into someone sharper, bolder; someone who would cross lines she used to swear she never would.
And sometimes, just for a second, it feels like he knows.
Like he notices the way Skylar watches him a little too closely. The way she lingers, waits, comes back.
