Seventeen-year-old Lolita Allister carries a secret far too heavy to hide.

To the world, she is nothing more than a burden, a monster, a "different" girl that people prefer to ignore or judge. Doctors have locked her away in diagnoses; her former classmates, in cruel mockery. Even those who were supposed to love her ended up leaving her behind.

When she arrives at a new high school, Lolita no longer believes in anything. Not in the future, not in friendship, and certainly not in herself. She moves through life without hope, a stranger to the world around her, a prisoner of the shadows that haunt her.

But sometimes, a life can shift when you least expect it. Behind a glance, an unexpected gesture, a chance encounter. Lolita is no longer looking for the light... and yet, a rift might just open in her darkness.

I first started writing this story thirteen years ago on a forum where I was lucky enough to have a wonderful community of readers. As the years went by, life happened, and I was never able to finish it. This story is my "little gem." It was the exact moment I discovered my immense passion for writing.

For the past few years, I have been working on a complete rewrite, as my style has matured and evolved over time. I always promised myself that I would see it through to the end. I've been through every emotion imaginable while writing this, and my only goal is to make you feel those same emotions as you read.

I am French, so this is a translation of my work into English to share it with you.
