Dress up

Simon was on his way to the nurse's office. Or, rather the small area with the couch outside it. He'd just been at his locker to grab his laptop and was now on his way back to the girls. While he walked he saw a guy wearing a long wig and girls with drawn mustaches and saggy jeans. The ninth-graders were having spex today, switched genders. He passed a guy from his class accompanied with one of the older guys. He was also in the ninth-grade, but he wasn't dressed up. Simon felt good today. He was wearing a slightly dirty white cap backwards, his shirt fit tight around his growing muscles and he hadn't thought about his legs since yesterday. But his good mood quickly turned sour when the older guy leaned toward him and while passing asked:

"Are you also dressed up today?"

Simon didn't exist until he was 11. Before him there was Siri. Siri, the weird girl who was quiet and read books, had shoulders so uneven she could be called a scale and who didn't know anything about pop culture. But after finding out about the possibility of being transgender, cutting of her long hair and having a bit of a crisis, Siri's life came to an end, and from the carcass Simon was born. This story follows the early days of Siri up until Simon's first surgery.
