Synopsis by @NeverTrustAnAuthor ____________ You'll see the scars across her arms and you'll grimace. You'll think of the blood she must have spilled and your stomach will turn over with nausea. But what you won't notice, what no one ever notices, is her pain. Sure, it hurts when she slides the razor across the soft flesh of her frail, thin arms. And of course it hurts her to watch the skin split open and the beads of blood dribble out. But what you don't see - what you could never even ask yourself is this: what is hurting Dawn D'Angelo so badly that harming herself - that spilling her own blood onto the bathroom tiles - is considered a relief? Because those cuts you see - those scars that make you shake your head in shame - they run deeper than you'd think. ____________ COMPLETED: JUNE 2015 ____________ Highest Ranking: #996 in Poetry - 12/11/16
