This is a coming of age faith story set in Kingston, Jamaica. It follows Akiel Reid, a young man raised in hardship and absence, shaped by a single mother working to keep the family together. His early life is marked by struggle, bullying, and quiet drift away from structure and purpose.

Everything shifts when a serious medical condition affects his foot, leading to hospital admission and surgery. In pain and fear, he makes a sincere promise to God, asking for healing in exchange for a life of service. He recovers and begins a new spiritual journey, including church attendance and baptism.

As time passes, his emotions do not match his expectations. He feels distant, uncertain, and frustrated. That internal conflict leads him back into old patterns and distractions. Yet even in his return to the world, the promise he made does not leave him.
