Lance did not expect his day to turn out this way. He was a flirt, don't get him wrong, and he was warned by other Blades not to tease Kolivan so much this time around, but goddamn. How could he have known that the galra had their mating season?

As a sharpshooter, he gets invited to a secret Blade mission, that means a short training session in their base. What postpones the mission, is Kolivan's sickness. Lance doesn't really understand why the other seeks his smell, and why suddenly the already warm Galra feels as if he was on fire.

Kolivan needs to stay put during his rut, unless he wants to pounce on Lance during their mission.

Lance doesn't really seem that opposed to that idea.
