In the middle of college deadlines, part-time jobs, and apartment chaos, Pomni is just trying to survive her third year. But when Jax's teasing turns into an intense fixation, she becomes the center of an obsession she doesn't even realize is forming around her. While Pomni mistakes the strange gifts and constant appearances as odd coincidences, Jax is willing to remove anyone he sees as a threat to having her for himself.

As students begin disappearing and fear spreads across campus, the only person who makes her feel safe is Jax who always appears at the right moment, says exactly what she needs to hear, and keeps getting closer. Even Zooble, one of Jax's closest friends, only notices small warning signs. Never the horrifying truth underneath them. In a college world full of secrets, jealousy, and violence, Pomni has no idea that someone would kill for her love. The more she trusts him, the more dangerous everything becomes.
